[attr="class","likedo"] [attr="class","likedotitle"] [attr="class","likedotitle2"]Spring Festival Performance Round! [attr="class","likedoinfo"]The Performance Round was an iconic part of every contest - it was the thematic grand finale, the part where Coordinators did their thing: show off. Appeals were cute, but it was in Performance where they had a whole musical routine, planned dances and effects, and wowed the crowd as much as they could, demonstrating their mastery of the theme of the Contest. The Floating Stage had opened its gates, and performance was to be inside this classically-decorated room: red and gold hung like garland and cloth, plentiful and bringing the theme of bounty and auspiciousness into the very air. It was designed with a specific point in mind: this was like the ancient show halls of emperors and rulers of old. There was a sense of mystique and innate glory that hung in the silence. The crowd was quiet, watching intensely, waiting for the next wowing moment. They had been thrilled to bits by the battles, and now they were ready for anything, expectations running high. Unlike before, the Contestants were not brought out in procession, but rather one-by-one, a very ceremonious and careful movement filled with ancient tradition. Dressed in her elegant red, the presenter smiled widely at the crowd, but her cheery tone was replaced with something a little more formal, toned perfectly for the round. "And now, honored guests, we have the moment we were all looking forward to: the Performance Round. Let these Contestants wow you with their mastery over the meaning of the Lunar New Year, and the Year of the Monkey." she explained with "There's little to explain here - it's all about the Contestants and their skill as a Coordinator. Can they wow the crowd and the judges now more than before?"The crowd, instead of cheering, clapped politely, excitement building, and yet quiet. It was as if the very room demanded a certain calm, respectful behavior. "We would like to remind contestants to keep their performances appropriate with the theme and setting, but other than that, without further ado, let us commence the Performance Round![attr="class","likedosub"]Notes - This is the iconic round of all Contests - much like the appeal, make a single post, but add a musical theme and razzle-dazzle the crowd with your mastery of the theme of the Contest. Remember to check Horizon's Coordination Guide for details!
- Remember the theme of the Spring Festival Contest is auspiciousness, bounty, and happiness!
- Remember that this is a wide-generation tradition: keep it PG-13!
- This round will run from February 24th - March 1st

!!!3894!!! "If there is one thing i do not tolerate Its messing with my pokemon! Well...this was it.
Outside that curtain was the final round of the contest. Yumi was starting to question why she'd done this again but no solid answers were coming to mind. With a calming breath she turned to her pokemon, making sure they were all present and addressing both her Noibat and Monferno specifically.
"You two are sure it's gonna happen right? You can hold it till we get out there? On signal and everything?"
Both pokemon gave an assured nod, though each seemed like they had an itch they were trying their darndest not to scratch. Still, Yumi rested easy with their word on it alone, taking a last breath, and walking out as her name was called by the presenter...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"And here we have our Miss Tasukai. I hope you can all give our trainer a big hand for her finale on her first ever contest."
With polite, gentle applause from the presenter as she stepped aside, Yumi walked out into the performance area, her heart dropping about 2 feet as she realized the whole place caused a fair issue with the plan she had in mind. Her whole performance hinged on an open area like she had with the last two areas...
With a worried expression, she leaned across to the presenter at the side, the audience muttering amongst themselves as they wondered what the red head was doing.
"Hey er...sorry to be a pain but is there any way to get this place to "accomodate for flying types", if ya know what I mean?"
The presenter seemed confused for a moment, though seemed to quickly gather what Yumi was trying to say. "No problem Miss Tasukai. Audience?" The Presenter moved back onto the stage for a moment, Yumi taking a back-seat and checking the long coat she'd worn adequately covered her costume. As she was now, all anyone could see were her amber eyes, red locks of hair, and her feet under a long black coat that had a hood hooking over her head. Really it was probably part of the reason everyone was muttering. Either she was hiding a costume beneath the one she was wearing now, or she had no fashion sense. As a matter of fact, it was the first suggestion. Her whole body, from the tips of her hair to her toes, and the costume underneath had been treated with flame retardent gels for the performance. Her overcoat could burn off and she'd be completely fine, but that was a fact everyone would see in action later on, for now they all had to listen to the presenter.
"We would advise all those who brought coats to promptly don them. This performance will require we remove the roof." There was another fair bit of murmuring, some questioning what was going on, other rustling into their coats. Before long the ceiling split in two, opening up, bringing a huge smile to Yumi's lips as she spotted the clear night sky above. Seeing as the whole contest was being performed on Faraday's floating islands they were far from the lights of the main city, so every last star could be seen, and the moon? Well...it looked huge...
It was perfect.
In a quiet tone the Presenter turned to Yumi simply to ask if there was anything else she needed for her performance. The red head shook her head, and equally quietly spoke an apology of her own. "Sorry, shoulda thought about it in advance. Won't happen again."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With a few steps forward, Yumi took a long, deep, calming breath as her pokemon took their places, some still hidden in the back, though her Monferno from the appeals round entered to some minor applause from those who remembered her, bringing a smile both to Veruka's lips and hers. The monkey stood to Yumi's side and a few steps behind. The rest of them knew their roles, when to come in, and when to act.
There was no more time to think, she could only act. A true, final breath was taken, and with her first words into the mic piece she'd worn, her amber eyes opened.
"Do you ever feel like like a plastic bag?"
Her Monferno began to hold itself, playing the part and looking almost weak and unsure of itself as it stood behind her on the stage, Yumi's arms swaying with gentle motions as she sang.
"Driftin' through the wind, wantin' to start again?"
With the cue to start, the Noibat and Pidgey hidden stage left would throw out their wings, a gust mixed with the gentle brown feathers of the Pidgey flowing out onto the stage, the Monferno raising her arms up against the incoming wind, the current strong enough to force her back once she finally let go and let it take her, rolling towards stage right and seeming exhausted as it's arms flopped beside it, Yumi doing her best to keep her focus on the audience.
"Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin?"
Yumi's head lowered and from stage right her Blaziken took to the stage, the Blaziken met with some minor boos from the crowd who remembered her from the appeals, the fire type lifting the Monferno by some scruffy fur on her chest, glaring into it's eyes and holding it in the air.
"Like a house of cards, one blow from cavin' in?"
Throwing the Monferno up, a swift kick was delivered to it, flames spewing from the contact, creating a powerful display especially as the monferno showed little resistance, thankful for the typing between them allowing her to take the hit. She rolled onto the middle of the stage, Blue flames hovering along the back of the stage like the dim lights of a Mausoleum as all the stage lights dimmed with it, the Monfero's tail being the only truly bright source of light.
"Do you ever feel, already buried deep!"
With her hand rising to her face and slamming back down, opened palmed to her side, a barrage of rocks courtesy of her Sawk hidden backstage appeared, the Monferno seeming scared as the rocks struck around her left, then to her right as she tried to escape in that direction. Eventually the rocks encompassed her, caving her into a small dome of earth.
"Six feet under, scream but no one seems to hear a thing."
There was a sudden burst of flames from the cracks in the rocky dome, embers spewing through, a "scream" from the Monferno trapped inside as she burned furiously in an attempt to escape. Yumi moved over to the "Grave", resting her hands on one of the warmed rocks, her face lowering once again for the briefest moments, before returning with the faintest of smiles.
"Do you know that there's still a chance for you? There's a spark in you..."
With those words Yumi stepped forward, taking center stage and slowly lifting her arms as the will-o-wisp flames lining the back wall began to spiral above the rock slide tomb, slowly winding together as she continued until they created a huge sphere of red, bright flame to light the whole stage once again without the aid of the stage lighting. The sphere of flame emerged at the apex of her next line.
"You just gotta ign-i-te the l-i-ght! And l-e-t it Sh-i-ne! Just -o-wn the n-i-ght!"
Yumi's arms became much more engaged with her words, crossing her chest only to spurt back to her sides, a slow motion from her left leg under her coat as she tapped her heel against the floor to the beat of her own singing, bringing her hands to her chest again, fists clenched tight as she drew them down her body, raising her head to the sky.
"Like the fourth of JULY!~"
From the stage left and right respectively emerged a burning blue sphere which left a vibrant trail, it's flames swirling around it as it rose up to the sky, apexing just where the roof had been before it was removed, and a true fire ball from the other side, nowhere near as detailed, but more ferocious in it's size and ferocity. They each hung at their apex just long enough...
"Cause baby you're a f-i-rework! Come on let you're colors burn!"
The two spheres erupted, the fire blast, now having arked to stage left rather than it's origin of stage right, erupted with embers trickling down to the crowd below, vanishing before they did harm. The Draco meteor having also swapped sides of the stage erupted similarly, a bright blue explosion, traces of draconic fire vanishing before they reached the crowd below. Between both explosions, the Kanji for "Yeah of the Monkey" had been created. "申年"
"Come on show them wh-a-t you're worth!"
With those words, from stage left and right respectively once more, Yumi's noibat and Charizard took to the skies, crossing eachother's paths over the still present tomb of the Monferno, flying over the audience with their arms outstretched before rising up to the sky at a 90 degree angle against the back wall behind the audience! Yumi's own stance was filled with much more energy, moving her whole body with almost every word she sang, as if pushing them out to the audience.
"Make 'em go Ah! Ah! Ah!"
With each repition of that last syllable, the Pokemon fired their attacks once more, fire blast and draco meteor, a use of Hurrican from the Noibat striking the three orbs of power and flame, and forcing them to surround each pokemon as they rose up into the air above the stage.
"As you shoot across the sky-y-y!"
With the whole sky as their playground the two pokemon flew lengthways across it, ducking and diving around one another in flight like a playful dance of two good friends, and once again timed with Yumi, their attacks exploded into bursts of fire and draconic energy behind them, the two final attacks colliding into a beautiful explosion of Blue, orange, red and purple!
To draw everyone's attention back from the sky and to the stage, the Rock cave behind her began to light once more, not with the embers of her Monferno trapped inside, but with a bright, white light, the Will-o-wisp sphere of fire burning ever brighter by the second!
Yumi's arms burst out to her sides, standing side on with the audience, gesturning to both them and the rocks behind her.
"Cause baby you're a f-i-rework! Come on let your colours burst!"
With the lights within the rocks growing ever bright, streaks passed across the audience as if the source of the white light was moving inside, until eventually, they "Burst" out, the rocks obliterated in such a way nothing more than dust hit the crowd, which even then would be just a minor annoyance. From the rubble littered around it's feat, emerged a proud and valiant Infernape, screeching out a victory cry during the brief pause in Yumi's sinking, the flames upon her head burning vividly with every shade a flame could muster, burning with the bright colours of a rainbow!
"Make 'em Go Ah! Ah! Ah!"
With a sudden tug from Her Infernape's arms, Yumi silently praid this would work, singing the three syllables through it as both her and her infernape were engulfed in the thick flames of her flare blitz, crouched down and nothing more than shadows in the flames to the audience. There was a brief gasp as some worried this wasn't meant to happen, but as the song moved on, a new being burst forth, the flames dissipating like the human herself had pushed them aside, spinning on her heel as she displayed herself to the crowd.
"We're gonna leave 'em all in awe! Awe! Awe!"
With Yumi's overcoat burned to ashes littering the stage where she had stood... It certainly was the year of the monkey!
"You don't have to feel, like a waste of space."
Lifting her arm up so the extra fabrics hanging from her arm would hang almost like a curtain, her Infernape now similarly mirroring her, taking a step to the left as she herself stepped to the right, she suddenly brought her arm back, the curtain she'd created allowing her Sawk Ko-ken to emerge from backstage without the audience seeing.
"You're original, cannot be replaced.~"
At this moment the audience may not have known the purpose to the appearance of the Sawk, but Yumi did, and for now that's what mattered. While there were other pokemon she may have been able to use in a contest better, her Sawk needed to be here. She knelt to his level, the Infernape standing to the side, arms folded watching as the trained hugged her sawk. In truth, she worried she neglected him sometimes, and she wanted to use his involvement in this performance to remind him he'd "never be replaced."
"If you only knew what the future holds, after a hurricane..."
Yumi reached her arm out to the sky, guiding the audience's attention to the two dragons dancing in the sky still above them, circling eachother, a gust of wind from the Noivern creating a sphere of wind so strong the air currents were visibly creating a disturbance in the atmosphere enough for the audience to notice.
"Comes a rainbow!"
With a swipe of her arm the two pokemon struck out against eachother, a torrent of fire and draconic flames mixing in a clash between them, the sphere of wind containing them both, creating a swirling ball of blues reds yellows oranges purples and even greens that covered the moon, both pokemon elegantly circling it, both to create a visual for the audience, and to keep the sphere contained through their own attacks.
"Maybe the reason why, all the doors are closed!"
Suddenly with Ko-ken's hidden aid, a wall of rocks appeared either side of Yumi and her two pokemon, seeming to lock them in, all three seemingly worried before powerful smiles appeared upon their faces.
"Is so you could open one that leads you to the perfect road!"
Both walls were destroyed by a kick from Ko-ken and a mach punch from the newly formed Infernape, the fire moneky and blue fighter smiling to the audience as a third rock wall appeared, covering the whole stage until it was turned to dust by the combined forces of both fighting types, though Yumi was the one left posing as though she herself had destroyed the final "closed door", stepping to the side to allow Ko-ken to take center stage, Veruka the infernape and Yumi raising their arms out away from either side of the blue fighter.
"Like a lightning bolt, you're heart will glow."
Raising his fist to the sky, from the cloudless sky it would somehow seem as though a lightning bolt struck his fist, when in fact it emerged from there. Energy cracked around his palm as he rested it over his heart, lowering his head with a gentle smile, slowly realizing why Yumi wanted him to be a part of this.
"And when it's time you know..."
From the sky, Yumi's Noibat flew down, smiling between both Infernape, and Infernape dressed woman, each female kissing it's cheeks with suppressed giggles as the small dragon seemed to be having the time of it's life, landing briefly upon Ko-ken's head.
"You just gotta ign-i-te the l-i-ght! And l-e-t it sh-i-ne!"
With the power of the infernape's fire spin, a ring of fire encompassed all four upon the stage, swaying their bodies as the ring of fire ran around them like a giant, contactless hula hoop, slowly shrinking and passing through the body of the infernape and the still flame retardent Yumi, ringing around the Noibat like an odd band as it took to the sky again, the ring of fire generating more and more from itself as she flew, each one growing large the longer it stayed dis-attatched till they too dissipated to embers. The small pokemon flew higher and higher, aiming for the still burning sphere of rainbow colours.
"Just -o-wn the n-ight! Like the fourth of July!"
Without any fear the Noibat flew straight into the heart of the burning sphere, Yumi's charizard entering from the opposite end, both approaching at full speed and opposing angles, an almost splash like effect as it disturbed the air currents keeping the flames contained, Yumi hoping to high heaven this would work, and singing from the bottom of her lungs as she began to see the same white lights as earlier emerge, shining shadows of the pokemon within showing, a burning light also emitting from her own headband like a radiant, rainbow coloured halo.
"~CAUSE BABY YOU'RE A FIREWORK!~"
With the rainbow sphere smashing open, it's brilliant embers going far and wide like a radiant fire work, the two pokemon within were held in secret as the bright light shadowed their forms, eventually revealing the Newly evolved Noivern, it's wing's spread wide and it's feet pressed against the feet of the Charizard, it's new black coating shining with the stars light, blue flames ever burning at the edges of his maw, each pokemon kicking off of eachother's feet and circling the moon as the embers faded away.
"Come on show 'em wh-a-t you're worth! Make 'em go Ah! Ah! Ah!"
The two pokemon flew together, circling eachother with near masterful intimacy, their opposing flapping wings canceling one another out as the met in the center of the moons glow, Yumi's chest rising and falling with every breath she could manage, her Infernape erupting into a being of pure fire behind her to highlight what little performance she could give to those who were avid on watching the stage and not the glory of the sky, clearly beginning to sweat from both the flames heat and the performances toll on her as a whole.
"As you shoot across the sky-y-y!~"
The two pokemon began to fall, slowly seperating, a draco meteor and fire blast firing down towards the audience with each note of "sky", though they all collided with the other's attack before they became harmful, splashing into a nerve wrecking display of fire works as the two pokemon swooped in, each gliding in opposite directions over the audience, close enough for the people to reach out and trace their fingetips across the pokemon's scales.
"Oh Baby you're a f-i-rework! Come on let your colors burst!"
The two pokemon took to the sky again to loop across one another, the attention drawn to the stage again as the Infernape's bodily flames intensified, a hand outstretched from the flames to ignite a ring of fire around the trainer's hips, her whole body swaying like a hula hoop of flame surrounded her, her arms twisting from her hands as she slowly raised them to the sky, the flame of her infernape behind her outlining her whole body fantastically. Ko-ken had vanished behind them in the meanwhile.
"Make 'em go Ah! Ah! Ah! We're gonna leave you all in Awe! Awe! Awe!"
Twirling in her place, Yumi's arms reached out and to her chest in repeated motions, like a traditional dance one might actually perform at an emperors court for his entertainment, a final heavy step of her forward foot, her arms pushing out to the ring of fire and forcing it to dissipate.
"Boom boom boom...~ Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon."
She rose her arm slowly as the song calmed, trickling embers indicating the show was on the sky again as more attacks from the dragons clashed, raining down spectacular embers as the each circled just within the rim of the moon, each of them black against it's brilliant white, yet somehow they were the more vivid picture as their motions seemed to halt, their slender draconic bodies circling one another as they rode the winds.
"It's always been inside of you, you, you! And now it's time to let it thr-o-ugh"
The two pokemon came down to the stage after they'd parted ways, gliding down at a gentle pace and landing either side with a tender flap of their wings for a soft landing. Both Veruka and Yumi stepped either side of Ko-ken, the trainer herself pecking the back of his hand with a slight wink just to say "thank you for being here with me", before pokemon and trainer rushed off to ride their pokemon. All this occurred in a lull of the music and soon enough the pokemon took to the sky again with an impressive take off, blue flames spewing out behind them where they'd launched from, the whole stage now empty part Ko-ken standing on one side, and the recently returned blaziken standing on the other.
"Baby you're a f-i-rework! Come on let your colours burst! Make 'em go ah! Ah! AH!"
Both dragons just continued to rise to the sky, the Infernape leaving rings of fire behind them as the Noivern encased them in a hurricane, firing draco meteors as the charizard spewed fire blasts, all the spheres of flame just following them as they rose higher and higher without end.
"~WE'RE GONNA LEAVE YOU
ALL IN
AWE!
AWE!
AWE!~"
With the apex of their flight, both the infernape and the trainer released their pokemon, who in turn turned to fall with them, wings pulled in to streamline their fall, passing through each ring of fire, trainer and pokemon all circling around one another as a recording of Yumi sung the last few lyrics in a faraway voice through the stage's speakers, the fire blasts and draco meteors still rising, and filling the sky with a flurry of flames as they fell...
Boom boom boom Even brighter than the moon moon moon Boom boom boom Even brighter than the moon moon moon
With their fall reaching it's end, trainer and infernape were caught in the arms of the Sawk and Blaziken respectfully, stretching out their arms and kicking out their legs as they were caught bridal style, their chests rising and falling, exhausted from their performance as further out to the edges of the stage the Noivern and Charizard landed, wings outstretched and letting out powerful roars to bring the performance to a close. There was a lull as the audience, likely on the edge of their seats waited for anything more, before (hopefully) Erupting into applause!
Yumi was left awestruck for the briefest of moments before hugging the head of her sawk close, kissing up and down his cheek, just wanting to share the love she had for all her pokemon with the closest one to her. The infernape also seeing this saw it as the chance to make a move on her crush the Blaziken, holding the bird pokemon close and nuzzling into it's fluffy feathers around it's neck. The two dragons did a final lap of the whole audience, flying over them with wings out before floating a little above the stage, Yumi kicking out of Ko-ken's arms leaving him with an embaressed blush, Yumi using all her energy in one final twirl, and bowing with an arm over her chest.
"~Thank you very much Veria! You have been an amazing audience! Goodnight and Arceus bless!~"

| How is it that I've fallen in love with you? How can it hurt this much? Never before have I ever wanted someone this much. If I say I miss you about a thousand times, will it reach you? If I try crying and fussing, will you know my feelings? |
● waiting, contemplating... @tag / I tried! / 1,466 Now that it was the final part of the contest, the Appeals round, Andrea knew that she had to “go big or go home”. After she’d watched the female redhead’s performance from backstage (and was secretly impressed with the tactics she’d taken, evolving not just one, but two Pokémon at the same time while on-stage) she knew she’d have to up her game. Evolving certainly had an impact on the audience, but unfortunately she didn’t have a single one of her companions who she could dazzle up and evolve while performing on-stage. Knowing that it would’ve been pretty cheap to copy the previous performer’s tactics, she knew she had one final ace up her sleeve—and was now wearing another layered outfit, due to what she had planned in mind. One of the backstage hands then came up to her and tapped her on the shoulder, saying, “You’re up, Miss Benoit… knock ‘em dead, I’m rooting for you!” before giggling ever so slightly and scurrying off. Knowing that it was time, she then looked at her two companions—knowing that if she used anyone else right now, her chances of winning were pretty much shot. Well, thankfully they hadn’t seen Alexandria perform… they think she’s just a ‘battle’ Pokémon… which she is most definitely not… she thought to herself, nodding encouragingly in her Milotic’s direction—as well as towards her Roselia, who currently had a “layer” of black body paint smudged and smeared all over her mostly greenish body. Even Sakuya’s petals had been turned black, for the time being; while her Milotic’s normally blue-and-red colors had been painted over with black and silver for the moment. “Remember what we rehearsed, just follow my cues and we’ll knock ‘em out with glamour and style…” she trailed off, quickly adjusting the strap of her clothes, before hearing her name called out on stage. As the polite applause echoed from beyond where she stood, she then nodded at the technician, who quickly gave the signal and turned out all the lights inside the arena. The cries of surprise then rang out, and she knew she had moments to get into position! As quickly (and as quietly) as she could manage, she then ushered her Roselia out first, before following it, and looked over her shoulder and tried to guide the made-up Milotic as best as she could before the music started and her cue was up. None too soon, the spotlight came on, revealing a heavily made-up Andrea whose face had been painted a stark white; eyebrows drawn in, and just the tiniest dab of lipstick on her cheek. Her outfit for the moment was what appeared to be a simple black robe, and the moment the music began to play, strange things started to happen on stage. As if possessed by the music, she began to dance on-stage, letting the tune set the mood—her Milotic following behind her with as much finesse as it could manage. The audience, at least the ones she could hear from the very front, were whispering amongst themselves—what had happened to the Water-type, why had it turned black and silver? She then began to move her hands with as much expression as she could muster, as if reaching out towards the sky—and at this motion the Water-type then blew an Icy Wind over the stage, making the wind all the colder; and there were little flecks dropping down from the same gust of cold wind that it had exhaled. The music then continued to play its sad, sorrowful tune; accentuated by the cold wind now blowing across the stage and into the audience—accompanied by what appeared to be black petals, seemingly raining from out of nowhere. The truth of the matter was, she’d practiced with Sakuya, having her release a certain amount of petals without going into a full-blown Petal Blizzard, and this was what the Grass-type was doing now, hidden in a shadowy corner of the stage. Once she’d crossed the stage and was now on the right side, she then seemingly reached behind her—employing the first of her sleight-of-hand-tricks, and pulled out a lacquer umbrella from out of nowhere, which she then opened to show the simple, black design on its surface. As she held onto it much like a normal person would, she then continued her “search” across the stage, holding her free hand up to her eyes, as if squinting into the distance; looking for something that she hadn’t found yet. The music then hit a certain cue, and she then swung the umbrella front and center, as if blocking the audience’s view from what she was doing behind the said umbrella. All at once, a stream of butterflies then began shooting out from both sides of the now-spinning umbrella. If they’d notice as well, the black design was shredding off, flecking and showing the real colors underneath—a cross between red and flecked, shimmering gold. As the umbrella prop came to a stop, the seemingly black of her dress was coming off as well—and the Milotic was now looking at her owner in wonder, as if entranced by the rising rapidity of the music. She then bowed to the audience once, before turning around and beginning the first of her dizzying twirls—how hard it was, spinning on-stage while wearing the foot-high lacquer wooden sandals underneath her ‘first’ costume! Once the butterflies had spread out and were now flitting this way and that, a sudden explosion of sunlight from the darkest corner of the stage came forth; and for a moment the blinding light shone brighter that the brightest lights that the stage had on—for at this point the only thing that had been following her was the spotlight, trained on her and the Milotic. The Water-type then raised its silver-flecked fan tail, before Coiling in on itself; undergoing the same transformation that the Coordinator was now in the middle of executing on the screen. The moment the bright sunlight (courtesy of the Roselia’s Sunny Day, who was now revealed in all her beautiful, naturally-pink flowered and green glory) faded, even the Milotic had seemingly changed color as well! Instead of the red-and-blue coloration, Andrea had also employed some additional trickery and had carefully painted the second layer (underneath the black-and-silver layer that had melted away due to the heat from Sunny Day) and was now shimmering in red, and what appeared to be a varying degree of purple, but shimmered almost whitish under the light. Once the Milotic had transformed into its new color, the Coordinator was now wearing a literal phoenix kimono and the black petals that had been raining down on her from earlier had now transformed into the normal pink that they were, courtesy of another carefully-timed Petal Blizzard. Now that the music was frenetic, she then came to a stop and began to move her hands out in bolder, more expressive gestures, adding to the rain of pink petals that her Roselia was now showering over her and into the crowd. From her hands came forth several folded paper cranes, but the moment they fell from her hands they disappeared… only to be replaced with actual red butterflies that continued to soar from her hold and into the crowd as well! The Milotic then continued to blow the Icy Wind, but it was now accented with the Roselia’s very Sweet Scent, so that the cold bite of the wind was more pleasant. The sweet perfume exuding from her at that point intensified, and she then continued to flare out her hands, turning her back to the audience once, before spreading her hands out as far, and as wide as they would go. The back of her costume had an elaborate design of a flying firebird—and even if it wasn’t themed with the Year of the Monkey, the cloth itself represented bounty, as firebirds were normally seen as heralds of good luck and bounty. After allowing them a glimpse of her back, she then turned around once more—and even more multicolored butterflies began to flitter off from what appeared to be her sleeves—more trickery achieved via the sleight-of-hand she achieved while her back was turned to the audience. All too soon, the music came to a stop, and she then struck a final pose, both hands outstretched as if to the heavens—and her own two companions had angled themselves so that they were both in front of her, exuding what appeared to be a glowing rainbow aura—achieved via Safeguard and Sunny Day done on a softer intensity. Now that her entire routine was done, she then gave a bow, and her companions followed suit, before the three then exited, stage right. 'IF YOU HAVE THE RESOLVE, BECOME THE KING'
The performance had come to a conclusion. It was now up to Rosario Grandier to leave his mark upon the stage of today's Contest. The battle was surely fought long and hard, but in the end he had a great amount of fun. He couldn't remember the last time he had such fun, but it was time for him to come and do what he had planned from the beginning of it all––to announce his desire to leave his mark not only upon this very stage today, but upon the doorsteps of all the Gym Leader. Yes. Today was surely a mighty fine day to not only debut his new single release with the aid of his fellow band mates, but to announce a goal that he has desired to achieve for quite sometime ever since setting foot within this region! Directing his gaze toward Aipom and his fellow pokefriends, Rosario would let out a small smile. This last rounds performance would not acquire any sort of traditional clothing nor would it be necessary for his pokemon to adorn such attire; after all, he had already done such the first round. What would keep him in the lead as of right now this very instant? He and his pokemon. Aipom would not at all be the one performing, but rather will be alongside Rosario on stage. Thus leaving the other four: Absol, Riolu, Kirlia, and Delcatty to be the grand auditors that will move the crowd. This round would consist of trainer and pokemon, this time rather than individually it was up to those exact four and Rosario! Aipom of course would simply be on stage performing alongside his trainer rather than the quartet. Finalizing the adjustments upon his performance attire. Rosario would stand up and turn his gaze toward his pokemon. "Let's wow the crowd one last time, ready?"
The curtain was set, placed in a closed manor as the crowd was unable to see those behind it. But the moment that they would draw open, five pokemon would be seen with their heads lowered and bowed to the crowd. Aipom in the ceter, Absol on the left side, Delcatty on the right side, Riolu on the left side of Absol, and Kirlia on the right side of Delcatty––in a curtsied manor I might add. Before any of them would raise their head, Rosario would stand behind the five with a standing mic placed in front of him. "Thank you all for allowing me to partake in my very first Contest within the Veria Region. This has truly been an aspiring moment for not just me, but my pokemon as well. They are all very grateful, as you can tell," he chuckled a little, "such a great way to start off the new year. Many of us have fought long and hard to get where we are right now to be here, and I just want to say to my fellow contestants that I hope we have many more encounters upon our future endeavors." Rosario said. Directing his gaze from the crowd toward his pokemon then back to the crowd, he would continue, "I want to announce to those that whom are watching from all over the region that I'm doing this not just myself, but for you guys! My fans, if it weren't for you I would have never obtained the courage nor energy energy to participate within such a contest alongside my partners. But not only are we here to let you on a big news, but we're also here to debut our new single "New Stage" for you all!" The crowd would cheer with excitement. Jovial to hear not only a new song from Rose himself, but also with the addition of a contest performance! With a haughty laughter Rosario would smile, excited along with them that they were so happy to hear his new single. "But wait, there's one more thing!" he said with a raise of his left hand. "I also issue a challenge to all of the Gym Leaders personally," he chuckled. Whispers were heard as well as murmuring, his gaze would latch onto one person after the other. "Let's just say that I plan to show them each individually the power of those whom hail from Unova! I'm calling out all eight of the Gym Leaders, and I want them to know the name of their future Champion as "Odin!" Yes, he was truly preparing to set a new stage for Veria himself. He wasn't doing this for his organization, but for himself. He wanted the crown of not just Top Coordinator, but Champion as well! By becoming Champion he would find what he was looking for, and no one would stop him. "Fret not, for once this Contest is over I shall be making my way toward the first gym located within Caravella City, and it will be gradually live filmed. So don't worry for those who feel they shall miss it. Whether I win or lose this Contest today does not matter, for that is okay! I learned a lot from watching each performance and battle here as of today, and I thank you all for allowing me to perform! I hope you all enjoy this very last performance from not just me, but my pokemon as well!" An with that he would close out with a bow, lights would purge themselves as the darkness took. With the shadow invading the light, a harmonizing voice was heard. <hr> Can you feel my new stage...? Can you feel my new stage... A strum of strings from the instrument of a guitar were bonded with the beating of a guitar were heard right after! Curtains would arise to reveal three other beings behind Rosario, whom which was the lead vocalist. Absol and Delcatty would jump into the shadows as the lights would set ablaze. Leaving Kirlia and the golden Riolu to start off the performance! naegeseo sesangi meoreo jindaedo gwaenchanha geurae nan make it take away ganghan cheok hamyeo jikyeoon nalsoge heureuneun nunmureun jajonsimeuro gamchyeoon dusoneun make it break away useul su eopdamyeon uimi eobtjanha! Kirlia would summon forth Will-o-Wisp to circulate around the band that began to perform, including Rosario who took lead vocalist. Kirlia would cause the Will-o-Wisp to encase the group in non-harmful flames that would shroud their entire being with purple fire altogether. The flames would dance to the rhythm of the music that would play, almost as if it was imitating the fire of their souls that roared with excitement! Inside of the flames kanjis were soon fading in and out, each kanji representing Rosario's current personality as follows: hope, excitement, fear, auspiciousness, and happiness! He was happy to be hear performing, happy to be upon this stage! Can you feel my new stage jasineul chaja Can you feel my new stage dwichyeojin naege Can you feel my new stage daheulsuman itdamyeon Can you feel me tonight..? Next up, with the aid of Magical Leaf, Kirlia would use the fire that shrouded her trainer. By tossing in the magical leafs that shone with different colors each second into the purple flames, the flames would begin to morph into different colors. Mimicking that of a visible spectrum. Each second the fire would change into a different color, shifting from one over to the next. As the burning fire that represented their souls continued to dance and shift from one color over to the next. naegeseo sesangi meoreo jindaedo gwaenchanha geurae nan make it take away ganghan cheok hamyeon oeroun ppuninde heullyeoon nunmuldo sojung hajanha gamchulgeot eobtjanha make it break away useul su itge nal noheul su itge! Kirlia would use Double Team, but alongside her was Riolu would mimick her with the aid Copycat, thus creating copycats of himself––which were at least four others each totaling the amount to ten altogether––the five Riolu's would use Magnest Rise bathing themselves in a glimmer of golden aura. Beginning to levitate into the air, Kirlia would follow behind and use Telekinesis, bathing her body in a sheer glimmer of blue light and rising to the sky above with her fellow companion. With the four copies of themselves individually trailing behind, they would all begin to partner up in the air and would dance with one another in a circle. The false images of the duo pokemon would dance with one another while the real copies would dance with each other. Can you feel my new stage jasineul chaja Can you feel my new stage dwichyeojin naege Can you feel my new stage daheulsuman itdamyeon Can you feel me tonight!?
The dance was ever so elegant and beautiful, almost as if the choreography was made of real actual Kirlia's and Riolu's, when in actuality it was only just two real pokemon dance with one another. The copies of Kirlia and Riolu would disappear, leaving only Kirlia and Riolu levitating within the air due to the help of Magnet Rise and Telekinesis. As they danced with one another hand in hand, Kirlia would use Safeguard to encase the both of them within a mystical, light blue sphere. But due to Riolu using Magnet Rise half of the sphere upon his side would turn a golden color while the other remained a light blue color. Kirlia would stare the young Riolu within his eyes ever so elegantly, amazed by the beauty that he would create as she held his hand within the golden-blue sphere. johatdeon sesang geu byeogeul neomeo gamchwoon godogeul neomeo nae moksoriga jeonhae jindamyeon Can you feel!! As they spun in the air slowly while manifesting a bright beautiful light over the head of the crowd, Absol and Delcatty would come out of the shadows as the two individuals would have their own spotlight on both sides of Rosario. The music would begin to dim slightly as the song was slowly coming to an end. Everything settled down, and together with the usage of Perish Song and Sing, the Absol and Delcatty would release a harmonizing note alongside their trainer, who would continue to sing as well. Can you feel my new stage naui dusone Can you feel my new stage gadeukcha inneun Can you feel my new stage nunmureul jeonhae Can you feel, my feel, I feel myself!?!! In accordance with the words. A multitude of dark musical notes mixed in with a multitude of rainbow musical notes would dance about the air. Creating a hurricane of musical notes embedded with one another as they would circulate in a manor of beauty and effervescent lighting. The hurricane of musical notes would keep the sphere that encased Riolu and Kirlia in midair at the top of the hurricane that circulated beneath them. Creating a beautiful glow of light that would radiate a feeling of warmth and happiness unto the crowd itself. Can you feel my new stage jasineul chaja Can you feel my new stage saeroun naege Can you feel my new stage daedaphaejul su itge Can you feel me tonight Can you feel my new stage Can you feel my new stage Can you feel my new stage Can you feel my new stage Can you feel me tonight! To close out, Aipom would use the move Swift, which wasn't apart of the performance, but made it look good nonetheless as he shot out random stars over the crowds head! The hurricane made out of musical notes would disperse into a multitude of glittering bright lights that would rain over the crowds head. The sphere that encased the Riolu and Kirlia would come to settle down unto the ground it would disperse as well, a light of blue and gold dust raining upon the heads of the partnered pokemon. Now what of the fiery rainbow flames? They would come to die during the moment that the group would finish their performance. Once the song stopped, so did the beautiful visible spectrum of fiery colors. Could it be that the Will-o-Wisp truly corresponded with the musicians souls? No one would ever know of course, but it was believed to be so. With the ending of their performance, they would bow in respect. Thanking the crowd for coming out to watch their performance. i am a flower quickly fading Honoka's nerves were jangling as she clutched the skirt of her dark red dress tightly in her hands. This was the finale, and most likely the deciding factor of the competition. She wasn't nervous necessarily because of her performance; watching the other competitors was breathtaking. She was confident in her performance; it wasn't that she thought she would mess up. It was more just the nerves you get before a big performance, part excitement and part wanting to puke. Her hair was let down in loose curls and she had tied a gold sash around the waist of her red dress that flowed and danced like flames. She thought it appropriate, as well, to have her Swablu with her, what with its coloring and all. She also had her Sneasel, a crucial part of her performance; she had put a small black penguin suit jacket and bow tie on her with gold embroidery around the edges that she had done herself in the shape of little phoenixes.. "Next up, she's wowed us with her Coordinating, dazzled us with her unexpected Battle performance! How do you think she'll top that off? Do you think she can? Well, to find out, here she is! The Breeder from Kalos, Honoka Sato!" She took a deep breath and walked onto the stage, a violin clutched tightly in her hand. Her swablu floated beside her, and she had one of her Sneasels with her carrying a small harp. She almost couldn't believe she had managed to teach her Sneasel how to play the harp herself. It had certainly been an ordeal, what with its sharp claws, but eventually she had taught it how to run its fingers over the strings without cutting them accidentally. The stadium was silent and the lights dimmed until you almost couldn't see anything around you. Honoka motioned to her Swablu, who cast moonblast around them, toning down the power of the move until it was almost so weak it didn't ecist. The light from the move sparkled around them and lit up the stage, highlighting Honoka and her two Pokemon. The Swablu kept up a steady stream of the moonlight on the trio, they being the only thing illuminated now, and Honoka lifted the violin to rest on her shoulder, arm poised, hovering above the violin with bow in hand. Her performance was likely to be different that the rest of the crowd. And she began to play. And her Sneasel also began to play. And the Swablu began to Sing, alternating between planned notes matching the harp and Violin and casting the moonlight around them. A voice calls softly
It calls from within
To trust my steps
And to keep on dreaming The moonlight sparkled like glitter around them, and her Sneasel cast Ice Shards around them in a crystal like formation so that they caught and reflected the light the Swablu was creating. It illuminated them a little bit more, enough that the Swablu could concentrate a bit more on the tune it was Singing, soothing the crowd but not making them fall asleep. Around night falls and all turns to gray
But I hold a light to light my way The light around them dimmed and then brightened, staying slightly brighter than it had started as. The sky is clear blue
No matter what we do
The road is long
But I see the light
That shines at the end
The arms reaching in
I know that you are waiting for me
The ice shards around them grew and then shattered with the next chorus, at first looking like broken glass then breaking apart smaller as smaller as the power from the Moonblast grew and then softened again to the light enveloping them. Now a medium sized ring of ice, looking like clear crystals with the front open as if inviting the audience into the light surrounded the trio instead. The Ice Shards were no more than a few inches tall, and a soft mist rolled off from the temperature difference in the room. Though sorrows, troubles
May gather up high
Broken glass pieces
Fall from the sky
Memories though sad
Will hold something true
Shattered glass pieces
Reflect something new The lingering light was enough to illuminate them, acting much like light bugs as the combination of heat and cold created a small draft, sparks of moonlight fluttering in the air. The swablu stopped casting moonblast for the time being and concentrated on Singing with the violin and harp, creating a harmony that made the melody carry throughout the hushed room. Not a word had been spoken since Honoka began her performance, and she assumed that was both out of respect for the violin and, at least she hoped, out of awe for her performance. Her owv voice carried easily throughout the room, though she wasn't singing overly loudly herself. She had the acoustics of the stadium to thank for that. Her voice had a hint of sadness, a lot of peace, and more happiness than sadness as she sang, her Swablu matching her tone with its own as she hummed and la'd with the tune of her violin. She didn't glance up once from her violin as she played. Instead, she focused on the music she was playing, and on the quiet of the room as the song reverberated around them and filled the hearts of those around her. It wasn't that she was afraid; no, her face radiated the same peace and love that could be heard in her voice. She didn't want to disturb that is she could help it. A voice calls softly
It calls from within
To trust my steps
And to keep on dreaming She was nearing the end of her song now, and she glanced up at the audience from her instrument. She could tell, from the lingering light still illuminating them, that there were some wet faces in the crowd. The looks on the faces of the people in the audience around her filled her with more confidence and happiness. Around night falls and all turns to gray
But I hold a light deep in my heart
I knew you were waiting right from the start Her song finished and closed on a soft note, her voice blending with the sound of the instruments and voices around her. For a moment, she stood there, arm poised above her violin like it had been at the beginning of the song. She lowered her Violin, and bowed, the audience still quiet. She took that opportunity to speak before they broke out into noise again. Her voice stayed the same level as when she was singing, but still carried easily across the stadium. "The year of the money is a proud year, as we all know, but it is also a peaceful year. It is a year to take happiness in what we have around us, and who we have around us. It is a year for fortune; for us and those less fortunate. It is a year to share that happiness and fortune. Most of all, it is a year of passion, of fire and gold and romance and love. It is a year in which we should not just take, but give to others, and share around us all that we have to help better someone else's day. I hope that, with my performance, I have in some way conveyed my wishes to you." She curtsied deeply to the audience, her Pokemon bowing with her. "I hope you all have a wonderful Year of the Monkey, and I hope you remember my message." The smile on her face was warm and enveloping and confident, as if the crowd she was looking at were someone she loved dearly. She turned, then, and walked gracefully off the stage, her red dress flowing behind her as she went, and the lights began to brighten once again in the stadium.

Post by Arietta Connally on Mar 1, 2016 20:21:35 GMT -8
Arietta didn't know why she was walking out here.
Her room and brain were both a giant mess. Clothes from various possiblities strone out every which way. Scraps of paper at what she could possibly sing. Days of thinking of the words that she could sing that other people would love. The moves her and Mawile could perform to make their hearts sing. What would they like? What would surprise them? What could she do to make them love her?
What could she do to make others realize her worth?
What could she bring to the table that others wouldn't?
Webpages full of research about what worked on the stage, tips and tricks from a thousand different people. All these different voices telling her what she should do. The pressure from the compeition. All of it was overwhelming. She almost gave up. Right then and there.
But then it hit her.
As she walked out onto the stage, wearing her civilian clothes.. her hair actually somewhat a mess as if she might have actually rushed out her at the last minute. Arietta even just a week ago wouldn't have even thought of doing something like this.
That spotlight felt so strange now.
She turned to Mawile, and gave her Pokemon a sweet smile. This moment wasn't for them. It was for her. Mawile had a concerned look on her face, still unsure of what Arietta had planned. She had been told to trust her.. that she trusted Mawile would know what to do when the time came.
Still, the Pokemon started being lead.. looking extremely nervous. Lost. Confused. Not coordinated at all.
The beat started, a jazzy and thumping beat. A soft blush slipped on her face and she took the Pokemon's hand and started to sing, with a soft and sing song voice. A hard earned product of training she had been putting herself through.
"Sometimes I'm feeling happy, and there's lots I'd like to say.
I start to speak, my knees go weak. Cause the words get in the way."
Arietta sung these words, pulling at her Pokemon's arms like she was trying to do a sort of jig dance with the Pokemon. The Pokemon continued to look confused and awkward, actively being lead into the movements. They had never danced like this.. this was energetic and wild. This wasn't coordinated.. their size difference and everything else just screamed awkward.
"Life's full of happy moments, like being here with you."
Arietta smiled so warmly at her Pokemon. She hadn't glanced at the crowd for a single moment. Her gaze was transfixed on her Pokemon.
"So ask us how, we're feeling now and this is what we do." A trumpet blared, signalling the start of the chorus, but there was a few moments of pause where Mawile would become quite the little nervous wreck.
What would they do? What would they do, Arietta? She didn't know! She wasn't dazzling the crowd at all! What moves? How would they use them?
Suddenly Mawile found herself being spun, as Arietta sung the next lines.
"When you can't find the word for your joy.. make some noise!" Her voice cracked. All of that practiced singing gave way to just some teenage girl, and she almost shrieked the last couple words. She stomped.. loudly, slamming her little legs on the stage. She looked at her Pokemon with eyes that spoke to a desire for.. something. Something Mawile still didn't quite understand.
There was a pause, where some background singers would have repeated.. lines she left blank because Mawile didn't quite understand yet.
"The beat that you repeat is your voice, make some noise!" Once again, Arietta wanted something from Mawile.. and so she just tried something. Anything. She made a loud sound that sounded as if she was trying to imitate the words that Arietta was speaking.. but she was obviously limited by Mawile speech.
But Arietta clapped, loudly and energetically, looking excited. This left Mawile utterly confused. That was what she wanted? Just.. make some noise? That's it? W-Why?
"Feeling crazy, what do you do?" "Make some noise!" She giggled as Mawile more energetically called out an imtimdating roar, no longer looking nervous. It even slammed it's own feet down on the ground.. showing surprising strength for her size as the stage shook a little.
"Almost feels too good to be true, make some noise!" The words came out with a half laughter, Arietta looking just so happy that Mawile seemed to be getting the hang of things.
"Make some noise! Make some noise! Make some noise!" Mawile started blasting out attacks, with each iteration of Make some Noise, it just blasted out something loud. A Charge Beam here. A Flamethrower there. She didn't care that they had been seen before.. when Arietta saw those noisy, powerful, and beautiful attacks flying in the air.. the way they demanded to be seen. The way they impressed upon themselves.. she was filled with glee. Her babies noise was perfect. You could never get enough.
The song continued, allowing Mawile and Arietta their moment in the spotlight together.
"We're noisy when we're happy, and even when were're sad."
There was nothing planned about it. They span about, they moved what limbs they had, they spun their.. hair? Jaw?
Because we've found, that all that sound, makes things not so bad."
"So if we start to worry, if something makes us frown..
It was adorable in a silly way.. they were at the very least putting a energetic display.
Also there was almost something coordinated about it itself, these two rebellious teenage girls dancing earnestly at each other for a few seconds.
"We start a groove and start to move and turn that frown around!"
Mawile would almost look as if she was trying to blast Arietta with attacks at times, but Arietta just giggled it off. They were having fun. No one could take that way from them.
The song was started to get close to the end, and Mawile was getting riled up. Arietta kept clapping and pumping up the Pokemon.. pulling herself back and letting it have the spotlight.
Mawile was dancing like a cool and confident warrior. It looked pumped by an energy it hadn't allowed it some in sometime. It looked ready to take on any Pokemon, or anyone that got in it's way. It's looked primed and ready.. a powerful combination of it's natural intimidation and Swords Dance. It eyed the crowd.. giving them a look that demanded fear for the noise that her and her trainer could make.
Arietta's voice continued even though she was off to the side.
"Feeling crazy what do you do?"
"Make some noise!"
It ran forward.. getting as nearly close to the judges as it possibly could. Was it going to jump off and attack them? It wanted them to think so. Had this teenager riled her Pokemon too much?
"Almost feels too good to be true!"
"Make some noise!"
Slam! It started to Play Rough with the air, and the stage. Repeated wild adorable slams, bringing up magical dust clouds and glitter.. but also making quite a deal of well.. noise indeed. Repeated, slamming itself against the surely reinforced stage like it intended to break it. Hitting the air like it threatened it's mother. The sound of it's quick attacks was like a whipcrack in the air.
"Make some noise! Make some noise! Yeah! Make some noise! Some noise! Noise!"
Everyone should feel it. The attacks on the stage should shake up the crowd and probably even the backstage a little. She wasn't going to be ignored. The loud song with flaring trumpets and energetic beat was finally playing it's final chords.. but she wasn't done.
She walked up next to her Mawile, almsot looking as if she intended to attack the crowd too. That was a mischevious look on her face.. wasn't it? "I really hope you like the sounds that me and my Pokemon make..!" She giggled a bit, and stuck her tongue out." Because you won't be able to tune us out!" she smirked.. and gave a haughty expression. A bit smile.
Come get her. She was done changing for other people. They all would learn to love her for who she was. Her parents. The judges. The world.

Vinny stood behind the curtain of the performance round. If he was nervous before, that was nothing compared to what he was feeling right now. He had seen other contestants enter before him, and to him it felt like everyone else had Pokemon that were levels above him. While he felt certain that his Pokemon were 'cool' the other's Pokemons seemed to be a lot cooler. Especially that bat looking one with the strange ears, that one looked cool as well. As Vinny mused to himself he sighed before taking a seat on the ground, looking down in his hands. "Calm down, Calm down...you've done alright so far, you didn't do so hot in the battle but there is still time left.." Vinny said to himself. Bits of sweat would start forming on Vinny's head, and he get the feeling of his stomach turning inside out again. "Why do I always get nervous during this presentation part..?" Vinny pondered to himself. During the last rounds his plan was to just have his Pokemon do most of the work while he played the supporting role, this time it looked like it was going to be reverse. Vinny was happy on one hand, he was in one of his many child like fantasies, but now was the time to put up or shut up. Vinny reached to his bag by his side and opened it. He would then dig into the backpack, and pulling out the pokeballs for his 'crew'. Releasing them one at a time, a Buizel, Nidoran ♂, Pansage, an an Eevee would appear. All four of the pokemon were dressed up in preparation for the upcoming performance. Each had a pair of cheap sunglasses on, different colors to create something of a rainbow for the Pokemon. Yellow, Light Blue, Red, and Silver respectively. The sunglasses were slightly cheap and goofy looking, the sunglasses having what appeared to be glitter on them. Buizel was wearing a white baseball cap backwards. Nidoran was wearing a (fake) gold chain, the look on his face showing that he wasn't too enthusiastic about the planned performance. Salsa, the Pansage was wearing the same outfit as before, and while it wasn't much the red sunglasses and her hair clipped into a star did create some sort of...'flair', so to speak. In relatively high spirits, she was ready for the performance. "Is everyone ready?" Vinny ask the group of Pokemon. He was given nods in return, a bit some less... enthusiastic than others. Beats, Vinny's Nidoran, Beats rolled his eyes at the get up he was dressed in. In his mind the Pokemon beletted the boy, knowing that he should have spent more time training before entering a contest. His attitude was toned down though, if only for the sake or not getting into another fight with Salsa. Pulse gave a nod, still feeling a bit of a let down for the disappointing battle he fought. Despite that, he was still willing to perform. The last performing mon, an Eevee named Rhythm was in relatively high spirits along with Salsa. Wearing sun glasses and a black backwards cap, she gave a nod of her head to Vinny. Vinny let out a small smile before turning behind to open the curtains. "Alright everyone...let's go!" Vinny said, his heart pounding as he entered the stage. After him were his Pokemon following in his footsteps. The spotlight was on him and the crowd was silent, awaiting to see what the young boy was going to do. While some chuckles were had from his outfit, the majority of the crowd was just downright confused at the outfit choice. Being down right bizarre and out of touch with modern trends, the only thing that fit was the color scheme. Some grunts were heard form the more traditional members in the audience but Vinny still had some hope in him. Because they just couldn't touch this. The music would play behind them. The lights would dim for a few months, Vinny would place his head down to the ground along with the rest of the Pokemon. Then the lights would turn back on, the 'crew' would aim their heads upwards before staring back at the audience, the music finally kicking in. The gang would suddenly start doing a dance. Vinny was at the center of it all, with the Pokemon acting as the 'support members'. Pulse and Salsa were facing sideways to the group, arms in a swim like motion they looked like they were marching towards something. Pulse was to the direct left of Vinny and Salsa was to the direct right. Beats was bouncing his head to the beat of the music, along with Rhythm. A sudden change of position would occur, the crew making a sort hop towards the crowd. Pulse would then hold open his mouth to shoot a small Water Pulse directly in the air above the cre w. The little ball would continue going before making contact with the roof, creating a short sprinkle of water to fall on the group. Another change in rhythm would occur, the crew bouncing backwards this time. During this Vinny would have a mini solo of shorts, his limbs moving with a passion. His eyes were closed behind his sunglasses, trying to imagine that the audience was not there, getting lost in his own little world. He would wiggle his arms and legs out in front, before going back to touch his chest before releasing then back out. This would go one for a few moments before Vinny did a spin back into the crew. Now Salsa and Beats were up. The two jumped out wards to the group, Salsa reaching into the bush on her head. She would then pull out a small handful of seeds before flinging them into the air. Beats' horn would glow a bright light, before sending off multiple sparks of lighting at each seed. One by one they exploded on contact, the sparks from the Thunderbolt helping make a little fireworks show of sorts. The fireworks show would continue for a few more verses, before the two hopped back into their spots. A break would then happen, the crew would then just dance in place. Vinny, Pulse, and Salsa were the only ones doing any actual dance movement portraying to the song, Rhythm and Beats were just nodding their heads to the song. The song was bursting with some weirdness (putting it..mildly) but Vinny was having fun, thinking that he was being 'cool'. Salsa was having fun, doing a little repeat of her breakdance that she had done in the appeal rounds. Pulse meanwhile was kind of just mimicking what Vinny was doing, save for him rotating his tails behind him while doing so. A reprise of the song would start once again. This time the Rhythm and Pulse jumped out ahead of the crew. Rhythm was charging up a Shadow Ball in her mouth, the ball of dark energy growing larger and larger. Pulse smirked as he readied his own attack, a Water Pulse. Rhythm released the Shadow Ball, only to have it countered by a orb of water. The two attacks canceled each other out, the sparkles of water dripping around the stage even if the product from the two attacks canceling out wasn't so glamorous. Rhythm gave a wink towards the audience before heading back to her spot, Pulse on the other hand remained on the main portion of the stage. Pulse would then get some water ready in his mouth, what would normally be a water pulse would turn into something...different. Inside of Pulse's mouth, the big jelloy orb would be broken up before Pulse released them out of his mouth one by one. The resulting effect would be small pieces of Water Pulse coming out, almost like bubbles the small orbs would float momentarily before popping in front of the audience. The group would then continue dancing, Vinny getting lost in his world. The display would be..amusing for the crowd, to say the least. More and more tricks would follow up, such as Salsa jumping in the area and doing flips. Beats would stay in the back, pulling off a 'cool' look while Rhythm just looked cute to the audience. More and more dancing would occur from the group. Rhythm and Salsa would then jump in front of the audience, before Salsa pulled more Seed Bombs out of her bush/hair. Rhythm and Salsa both did a spin, before Salsa threw the seeds up into the air. Rhythm would then fire off a quick Shadow Ball, before releasing it up into the air after the seed bombs. This time the resulting 'fire works' would be a bit too close for comfort, but the explosives were eye catching never less. Once that little display ended, the two jumped back into place. Vinny did a follow up spin to compliment the two mons jumping back into place. This time the focus was on the whole group. Everything was on them, the eyes the lights it was time. TIme for Vinny to either put up or shut up. All four Pokemon got onto the main stage, doing cool/cute little poses for the audience (although Beats looked grumpy while doing so). Salsa made sure that her Seed Bomb while Pulse charged up another Water Pulse in his mouth. Beats got his horn ready while Rhythm was charging up a Shadow Ball. First Salsa threw the handful of seeds directly upwards in the air. Next was Pulse, firing off a large orb of Water upwards as well. The Water Pulse instead absorbed the seeds, if only for momentarily. The orb of what then exploded, sending water down onto the stage with some getting into the audience. Next the Shadow Ball was fired off, only for Beats to meet it with a Thunderbolt from his horn. During the whole time Vinny was spinning, before the song ended along with the performance. Vinny shot his arm and head towards the sky along with the rest of his Pokemon. "OhtakeArecusit'sover" Vinny thought to himself, breathing hard. Vinny then did a bow with him and the rest of his Pokemon before the crew made their way off stage.
